Install kukkiri on Windows
The installer bundles everything kukkiri needs, including Python and ffmpeg. No admin rights required.
1. Check your GPU
You need an NVIDIA GTX 16-series / RTX 20-series or newer and driver 580 or newer. Unsure? See GPU setup.
2. Download and install
- Open the latest release and download
kukkiri-setup-<version>.exe. - Run it. kukkiri installs for your user only, into
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\kukkiri. - If Windows SmartScreen warns about the download, choose More info โ Run anyway.
3. First run
Start kukkiri from the Start menu. On the first restore it:
- downloads the model weights (about 250 MB) from Hugging Face and verifies their checksums;
- builds TensorRT engines for your GPU. This takes a few minutes once and is cached afterwards.
Weights go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\kukkiri\weights unless you choose another weights folder in the app.
4. Restore a video
- Add videos or whole folders with the buttons, or drop them on the window.
- Press Start. Files are restored one after another; each row shows progress and time left.
- Double-click a finished row to open it.
To try a short section first, set Start and Duration before adding files. Stop ends the current file (its partial output is removed) and pauses the queue.
Troubleshooting
- Very slow or GPU not found: update the NVIDIA driver to 580+. On laptops, set kukkiri to the NVIDIA GPU in Settings โ Display โ Graphics.
- A file is declined: kukkiri found nothing to restore, or another tool already processed it. See limitations.
- Something else: open an issue.
